The Images de collégiens workshops were created in 2003 as part of the Chemins de la culture, by the departmental council of Haute-Savoie, and are targeted to secondary schools and their teachers.
These workshops are part of a comprehensive approach to arts education in images, with a goal to create a short digital animated film on a chosen subject. The workshops have three stages: a guided tour of the Musée du film d’animation, a creative workshop and the films shown during a screening session before the Annecy Festival.
CITIA also makes different resources available to teachers like the interactive DVD AnimAnum, to help them develop the screenplay and content of the film.
The school kids then take part in a one-week film making course in CITIA's specially equipped multimedia classrooms or an initiation course in stop-motion animation at their own schools. The course includes digitisation, animation, sound and editing and is hosted by an industry professional and supervised by their class teacher.
