  Feedback on the results of the Observatoire de la filière

On December 17th, CITIA hosted over sixty members of the moving images and creative industries sector for a presentation of the results of the second Observatoire de la filière.

The study was carried out by CITIA and the Agence économique départementale, in partnership with Imaginove.

The main points of this overview of 2012:

  • the dominant role of the sector in Haute-Savoie on a regional level with 241 companies and 1,200 full-time jobs, with 86 % in the design and production of images;
  • a predominance of multimedia with an over-representation of audiovisual (23 % of the sector) and an international reputation in animation;
  • a stability in the number of companies, with a 9 % increase in total turnover.

Even with weak hiring prospects in 2013 and a preference for outsourcing, the majority of companies have constant work and their owners are fairly confident for the future.

A fact confirmed by CITIA's Chairman, Dominique Puthod, who defines the sector as "important for local authorities and promising for the future", and supported by the Panorama national des industries culturelles et créatives, who places the sector in front of the luxury and automobile industries with a turnover of 74 billion euros.

You can find details of these figures by downloading the Observatoire de la filière No 2.

CITIA would like to thank everyone for coming and looks forward to seeing you at the next Forum Blanc in le Grand-Bornand from 15th to 17th January 2014.
