Gokurōsama

18th Jul 2017

The students had their say, through Anima-J!

'Gokurōsama' took both the 2017 Schools and Colleges Prizes, within the Anima-J program.

Because one of the aims of CITIA is to teach about images, every year it provides local students the opportunity to experience and partake of the Annecy International Animation Film Festival. For these audiences special screenings of animated films are held, selected by a jury of teachers. Thanks to the Anima-J structure, no less than 200 different primary and secondary classes were able to participate this year.

After the screenings, the floor is given to the students so that they can select their preferred short film. And this year the various sections elected a unanimous favorite.

Gokurōsama won both the Schools Prize and the Colleges Prize this year. Congratulations to Clémentine Frère, Aurore Gal, Yukiko Meignien, Anna Mertz, Robin Migliorelli and Romain Salvini, directors of this short film.

Gokurōsama, a graduation film from the MOPA school, takes place in a Japanese shopping mall when a shopkeeper suddenly finds herself paralyzed before opening hours. In a rescue effort, her young employee attempts to make her way across the mall with her.

Congratulations to the graduates, and many thanks to the budding Anima-J jury members!

To the region’s teachers: if you’d like your students to participate in next year’s event, please see the Anima-J participation conditions.
