CITIA teaching sheets

CITIA sought out the services of Catherine Puthod – a professor of plastic arts as well as CITIA relay-professor – to compile tips or teaching sheets for deciphering short films from the official roster of the Annecy International Animation Film Festival.

Designed with teachers and trainers in mind, these informational sources were aimed at assisting instructors in exploring animated pictures with their students.

Five short films are analyzed in these teaching sheets:

Interactive AnimAnum DVD

CITIA has created an interactive DVD for young fans of digital animated images and their teachers showing the different stages of making an animated sequence (from idea to final editing). The DVD is illustrated by a number of examples and can be used occasionally in the classroom or as an interactive support for the course.
Please contact us if you would like this DVD.

L’Atelier de cinéma d’animation d’Annecy et de Haute-Savoie (aaa)

Since 1971, l’Atelier de cinéma d’animation d’Annecy et de Haute-Savoie has been educating, initiating and training the general public in the art of animation through their various operations: image education, creating works, holding meetings with professionals and spreading cinematic culture.

Beyond simply raising awareness, the aaa strives to give each group or individual the chance to make an animated short film.

Benshi, the children’s guide to cinema

Benshi is a website with recommendations of quality films adapted for children between 2 and 11 years old. With a data base of hundreds of films, selected and advocated for by children’s film specialists, Benshi encourages children’s curiosity and guides the whole family in a progressively adapted discovery of film. In their personalised section, children can carve out their own path to becoming a film buff.

Films for Children

Films for Children is a not-for-profit association with a web portal for open access to short films, free of charge. The movies are ranked according to age, subject and keyword, in view of educational use.

Intended both for parents and teachers, poetic films are accessible for children to be made more aware of art; there are educational films to shore up school programs. View them at school and then again at home!

There’s also a subscription version of the portal for cultural and educational institutions, accessible off-line.

Canopé Network

Canopé is a network for educational creation and guidance under the supervision of France’s Minister of National Education to accompany the education community to develop animated image education with educational resources (work, DVD, online pedagogical files), training programmes and presentations all over France.

The Canopé Network and CITIA co-publish the pedagogical files on short films from previous editions of the Annecy International Animation Film Festival.
